Component #1: Website.

This will be your vehicle for all your online activities. You can use

or you may use it to capture visitors' contact information with an
opt-in form.

Component #2: Traffic.

Once you have a website, you are going to need traffic. Without
traffic, nothing ever happens on a website. Even the best sales copy
will amount to nothing if you don't know how to drive targeted traffic.
Master traffic, and your online business will succeed for sure.

Component #3: Product or service.

With traffic, you need to be able to monetize the traffic to start
making money. That means you must have something to sell. You can
either sell your own product or service, or you can be an affiliate and
promote someone else's products and services. Alternatively, if you
don't want to sell anything, you can put up some ads and earn some
revenue.

Component #4: A list.

I'm talking about a list of prospects and/or customers. Whenever a
visitor arrives at your website, he can either do what you want him to
do, or he can choose to leave. Usually, new visitors won't do what you
want them to do (especially if you are after their credit cards) if
they don't know who you are. So you want them to give you a chance to
introduce yourself.

You can do this by creating an opt-in form so that visitors who don't
want to buy anything upfront can leave their names and email addresses
with you.

Once you have captured the contact information, you can always email
them again to introduce new or existing products to them.

As I mentioned earlier, I've had to tackle a host of challenges. Here
are some of the challenges that I've encountered. And I know you'll
come face to face with them sooner or later.
* Register the right domain name. (Be careful with this. Many people
don't know that a domain name may make or break your online
business.)
* Choose the right web host. - (Choose the wrong host and you are in
for some headaches - aspirin please!)
* Choose the right Content Management System (CMS) - (I used to go,
"What the heck is that?")
* Choose the right products to promote.
* Set up sales page with appropriate graphics.
* Drive traffic to website. - (Took me a long time to learn how to do
this properly.)
* Setting up a squeeze page to capture contact information.
* Setup autoresponders to send out follow-up emails.

To overcome these challenges, I had to learn how to work with graphic
software, write sales copy, work with website creation software, create
new products, and perform SEO all at the same time. Yikes! - Not very
hands off, and definitely not very sexy and glamorous.

your website will rank for that keyword. So if someone searches for
